Why We Do This Work

Every once in a while we have one of those days that reminds us why this mission means so much to us. We just spent the morning photographing dogs needing homes with Dallas DogRRR. It was a joyful, busy, slightly chaotic, and completely heart-filling kind of day.

The coordinator and volunteers from Dallas DogRRR were absolutely incredible. Wrangling dogs, squeaking toys at just the right moment, handing out treats, calling names — it’s a lot of work, and they did it all with patience and huge hearts.

By the time we packed up, everyone went home feeling really good and then pretty much collapsed face-down on the couch.

The dogs, on the other hand, were stars.

They were happy, cooperative, curious, and very motivated by the steady stream of treats they received for all their hard work on set. Watching them light up in front of the camera was pure magic.

Research shows that great photos can dramatically increase a dog’s chances of adoption, and that’s exactly why we volunteer our photography for these rescue groups every month.

Helping rescues like Dallas DogRRR is one of the most meaningful things we do at Hooray For The Underdog!
